I get by with a little help from my friends.....

I've got a peak of the room for you.  I am so happy with how it's turned out.  Jane told me tonight, "Momma, my room is great!"

I wish I could say all this decorating insight was my own but that would be a lie. My neighbor, Patti, got involved a few days ago when I was needing reassurance on the paint and she hasn't backed up since. For that, I'm grateful.  Patti's one of these that knows how to take a room one step further. She's aware of the room's layout and how it needs to function, she balances visually weightly pieces with the light ones, she decorates age appropriately yet classically so that pieces used will transition with age and she appreciates the welcoming glow of a soft lamp and sees that the entire room is bathed in it.  Also, she doesn't put it in the room if it's just to "make do."  That's a hard one for me as I will convince myself  I'm being creative when actually I'm taking the room from the right track to the wrong one!   Remind me to tell you about some mirrors and a chair.....not too good.

Here is Jane doing her dance of joy. Go, Jane, go!

Thanks, Patti!  You went above and beyond in helping us piece this room back together and I couldn't be prouder of it.  Clearly, Jane's pretty stoked too!

As for now,  I'm waiting to welcome the bread winner home and looking forward to a good night's rest!

  1. You mentioned needing another "J" name? Well, I'm no Isabella and Max, won't be confused for a HGTV designer and probably won't be found looking for a good deal at the local consignment shops, but I am enjoying a peek into one of my favorite person's daily adventures. And my name does start with a "J", so it looks like that counts for something around here, right? Keep on blogging.
